Why Spring Is the Best Season for a Disney Trip

Craving a Disney vacation but not sure which dates to book?

We hear you.

While summer is hot and sunny and fall and winter trips coincide with holiday celebrations, we happen to think there's nothing better than Disney in spring.

Here's a look at our top 4 reasons why spring is the best season for a Disney trip.

1. The Stunning Weather

A boy and a girl in blue, yellow, and white inner tubes float in a lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon with tropical landscaping behind them and a boat stuck on a mountain peak in the distance.

Weather doesn’t get much better than spring in Orlando.

With temps that range from the upper 50s to the high 80s throughout the months of March, April, and May, visitors set themselves up for prime vacation weather.

Plus, with the rainy summer season on the distant horizon, Orlando typically only sees a handful of rainy days each month in spring.

This gorgeous weather is perfect for walking through theme parks, spending the day at a local water park, or even lounging by your hotel pool.

You’ll still want to pack a light jacket or sweatshirt in case the nights and mornings are chilly, but you can leave your coats and other winter gear behind.

2. Plan a Trip for the Whole Family

After the highs of a jubilant holiday season and the lows of finding routine in the new year back at school and work, everyone deserves a much-needed spring break.

Spring Break is one of the most popular times for travel, and for good reason. With school districts around the world releasing students for a week-long holiday, many families take advantage of the time off by traveling as a family.

It’s no surprise that with the caliber of family-friendly entertainment offered in Orlando, our city is one of the most popular spring break destinations in the world.

It also makes spring one of the busiest times to visit theme parks like Walt Disney World.

Luckily, there are plenty of ways to navigate spring break in Orlando so everyone has an amazing time.

3. The Festive Atmosphere

Throughout EPCOT, you’ll find over 70 remarkable topiaries sculpted to look like your favorite Disney characters.

Foodies will appreciate innovative food kiosks selling dishes with fresh ingredients and garden-inspired flavors for treats that taste as good as they look.

You can also catch an exciting concert as part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series featuring artists like Rick Springfield and Blue October.

4. A Variety of Parks to Explore

With four incredible theme parks and two refreshing water parks, there is plenty to explore on your spring Disney trip.

Spend the day making memories at Magic Kingdom as you ride classics like Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World. There’s nothing quite as magical as seeing Cinderella Castle in person as you walk down Main St. USA.

At EPCOT, not only can you experience the International Flower and Garden Festival, but you can also enjoy visiting pavilions inspired by countries around the world as you taste your way around the World Showcase.

Hollywood Studios is the perfect destination for Star Wars lovers and Toy Story enthusiasts with plenty of adventures for everyone in the family to enjoy. Check out Fantasmic at night for a spectacular fireworks and water show starring beloved Disney characters.

Animal Kingdom is one of the best Disney parks to explore in the spring, with incredible wild animals, amazing live shows, and even thrills like Expedition Everest for adrenaline-seekers to get their fix.

Disney also has two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, that are ideal for a day of refreshing family-friendly fun.

Whichever parks you decide to explore on your spring Disney Day(s), you’re bound to enjoy a trip full of magic and memory-making.
